We have reached the end of 2017 and there is much left for us to accomplish.
God’s work is never done; as Jesus reminds us, “The poor you will always have with you” (Matt 26:11). Many of you are making plans for helping various charities before the tax year is up and I would like to remind you of the need for additional funds at Word Within International.
Ours is a small ministry, but one that is trying to make a difference in the lives of people by teaching the scriptures at whatever opportunity we can. One of our main thrusts is to reach the unreached in Myanmar by supporting indigenous pastors who are preaching the Word in their area of the country. We put a great deal of our energy into helping Philip, his family and the Bible school.
Currently, Philip is out on a mission trip to the remote areas of the country. Many of you have contributed to make this trip possible. This year’s team consists of twelve people, including students, chaperones and Philip’s second daughter (see pic on back page). Here is an interim report from Philip as to how the trip is progressing.
“During our ride on boat, it was raining almost throughout the day and it just happened that we got only two umbrellas with us for the twelve of us, poor fellas but God has kept us with strength and health to be able to arrive our targeted location. Paul said, ‘now, I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake,… (Col. 1:24). So, truly joy can be found and experienced at the same time in sufferings.
Anyway, by His grace, Biblical Repentance and Saving Faith was taught by me and John Mang and the students were privileged to share their personal experiences with God as well.
“Our gratitude comes from God through His people who joined us on this trip in various ways, ways and means of his/her choosing. It is even more greater a joy to learn that the Lord Jesus Christ who delivered us from the pit of sin now takes the delight in using us, sinners, a vessel of His love, as one of His instruments to bring more sinners to Him. We still have another two days and one night for teaching and preaching. Please continue to lift us up in the Lord as you pray.”
Again, many thanks to all who are currently helping in Philip’s support. The needs are many and funding is lacking. If you feel led by God to become a part of the team, you can mail your check to P.O. Box 33178, Tulsa 74153. Word Within International is a 501(c)(3) corporation.
