Many thanks to a single contributor who supplied the resources for purchasing the new rice cooker for Philip, his family and the students at the school. Previous to the purchase of the machine, rice was cooked over a campfire by students before each meal (at the school) and by Dante (at Philip’s home).
Wood to fire all these fires was a drain on their limited resources. By consolidating the different cooking pots into this one cooker, much money is saved on fire-wood (which is expensive in Myanmar).
In addition to saving money, students no longer have to miss class in order to tend to the cooking of the daily rice. Philip sends his message of gratitude to his generous benefactor.
Here is a note from Philip:
“Please join me and the teachers of YGBS in this prayerful and passionate task of the equipping of YGBS students for Godly ministries. Pray that they will all be that individuals, through the sharing of their talents, abilities, possessions and spiritual gifts, whom God uses to change many lives for the glory of the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit and through the proclamation of His words.
“Remember, we exist for God. So, we’ve been called to serve and have been given a mission, to commit to others what we learned (2 Tim. 2:2) and thus we’re also called to live a life of endurance which is freed from getting ourselves entangled in worldly pursuits (2 Tim. 2:3-4) coupled with a singular motive to please God. Let us, therefore discipline ourselves and live under its rules because He has preserved the fruits of our labor (2 Tim. 2:5-6). May I, once again ask that you will “consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things” (2 Tim. 2:7).”
Susan and Gail will be traveling to Myanmar in January 2019 for teaching and fellowship. We ask for your prayers for our preparation and support. This will be our first trip over there in two years. Please pray about it and determine if you can help again with your donations. We are trusting God to provide the way to make it happen.
