A Word Of Thanks
Asbury Church and Word Within International are blessed to have hosted Philip from Myanmar for the period October 12th through the 21st. We are especially grateful to Joe and Jeanette Hooks who welcomed Philip into their home for the duration of his stay here in Tulsa.
During his time here, Philip visited a number of mission gatherings including some that involved participants from other churches in the area.
At Asbury he visited six Sunday morning communities, teaching the lesson at four of them as well as at the Women of the Word meeting on Wednesday morning.
On Philip’s last evening in Tulsa, the Global Mission Commission hosted a dinner at Asbury at which Philip gave a talk about his ministry in Myanmar. The presentation was informative as well as inspirational. We will miss Philip’s presence here in Tulsa.
Although Philip is now at home with his wife and family, Bible school students and friends, the memory of his visit will be with us for a very long time. Through our prayers and gifts, we are participating in the good works his ministry is accomplishing throughout his homeland. Through him, we are reaching the remote areas with the gospel. In four weeks, Philip will be taking a team of students with him to preach and administer to several different ethnic groups in the remote areas.
How To Give
Since Philip’s visit, many have asked how they can help financially. The most efficient way, perhaps, to forward funds to Myanmar is to work through Jim Davis at Asbury or Susan Woodward at Word Within International. Gifts to either will be sent in their entirety to Philip and your donation is tax-deductible as a gift to the church or a non-profit 501(c)3.
