These are historic times.
It’s been three months since our last newsletter was sent out. A lot has happened during that time—on the one hand, but on the other, many of us have been confined in our homes and not doing much at all.
Some have been without work and are feeling the effect of the reduced income.
It’s been difficult shopping for necessities (like food!) and shortages have challenged us to stretch our imagination. Our grandchildren have postponed weddings and gone through virtual graduations from college (and that, only after three months of online classes).
I have even discovered that the Spam of the World War II-era is not so bad after all!
A Prayer, and a Request
I pray this letter finds each of you healthy and doing as well as possible under the circumstances. I’m sure you—like me—are more than ready to return to some sort of normalcy, whatever that “normal” turns out to be. I imagine we’re going to still be seeing facemasks and social-distancing for some time to come.
I guess that means I’m not going to have to return to wearing make-up for a while. I might even decide to keep the mask thing going well into the future! What do you think?
Partly because of the lack of newsletters mailings and partly because of limited income in the community at large, the Ministry has been unable to meet all our commitments. We understand that this may be a time of financial difficulty for some and we certainly do not wish to add any pressure.
However, if you are able to do so, we’d ask you to consider helping us out with whatever you can. We operate on a very limited budget that does not have room for much squeezing. We thank you for understanding.
The wonderful truth of it is that God is always with us during the tough times as well as the good. He watches over us and always makes sure we have exactly what we need.
