A Letter from Phillip: May

A Picture of philipOn this trip, we lost our 1999 Toyota that we had used to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to many parts of Myanmar and many of which are not the popular places to go.  But by His grace I know where I am most needed.  We invested, not our choice but His, around 20k USD worth vehicle in a car accident.  But He spared the bests, that is me and my four kids and two others, one is my student and the other is the invited Sunday school teacher.  Praise God!  “God’s goodness is often woven within what men would consider evil” my heart utters it. ✝ Job 2:10 “But he (Job) said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?  In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”

Those who think about temporal conveniency will loose heart in despair over the losses and the incapability to buy one any hour of one’s choosing but those of you and us who are about heavenly and eternal things will gratefully dip and saturate our mind in the souls of men drawn to Christ and the souls of believers edified in Jesus Christ for His eternal glory and our joy on earth for being His vessel. God’s plan, grace and mercy for us and for His people in the Layum Village occupied by the Naga people in the bordering mountain part of northwestern Myanmar and northeastern India is undeniably evident and fruitful. Yes, “God’s goodness is often woven within what men consider evil and in this we are rewarded a tear of joy. This experience then will keep me remaining a humble servant to serve His people under His command till He bids me home eternal and I cannot wait to make my inquiry to Him about this particular architective incident. The tears have, indeed, given me a beautiful rainbow I will ever want to behold. Amen!”

The trip was so challenging.  The road is filled dust that impregnated small slippery stones, and the distance is far as well. Plus our vehicle was only 2 WD.  Our student did know the vast difference between 2WD and 4WD either.  Anyway, it took us two nights and three days to get there but it took us four nights and five days to get to home.  Such is a place God wants me to go and proclaim Him and I am just grateful to be His humble servant.  Below is a link provided for you to watch a 5 minutes clip of the trip.
