All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
We are Equipped to Understand
According to this passage in Paul’s second letter to the young pastor Timothy, God intends the Bible to be a resourceful instruction manual by which believers are supposed to model our lives. Obviously, if we are to live by these precepts we need to understand everything that God is wanting us to know from what He has written. Then, and only then, can we be equipped to accomplish the good works He has planned for us to do.
This being the case, we can be reassured that God has given us all the tools we will ever need to understand this incredible book. And He has put these tools right there in the context of the Bible itself. We merely need to learn how to use them.
We are so very excited to introduce you to a new course prepared especially for believers who desire to understand better the Word of God. Beginning Wednesday September 1st at 6:30 p.m., we start a twelve-week class that will equip you to use scripture to interpret scripture and reduce (or totally eliminate) your use of extra-Biblical commentaries and footnotes.
If you want to enjoy a new freedom in reading your Bible, and knowing that you are understanding the very intent of God’s message to you, put this event on your calendar. For additional information and to reserve your place in the class, call Gail Knox at 918-812-5254.
