No Need to Understand, Just Trust God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Not Well Understood

This passage is perhaps  one of the most misunderstood by people during the chaos that’s going on around us today

Many of us spend way too much time trying to figure things out. God created us with an inquisitive mind—and that is a good thing—but there are times when we must put questions aside and learn to “trust in the Lord with all our hearts.”

We know that only God can see through the lens of eternity; and we but dimly, as if through a mirror. How, then, can we possibly trust our own perspective over the Word of God?
The wonderful news is that we do not have to understand “the why” things are the way they are. All we need to do is trust that God knows everything, and He is both trustworthy and sovereign.

An Intentional Lack In Understanding

In fact, there may be times when God may not want us to understand, because He wants to increase our faith in Him. Jesus told us we would have tribulation in this world, but that He was leaving us His peace.

And when we really trust God, His peace is ever-present within us. That’s quite a gift Jesus has given all believers!

So here we are. We can rest assured that God is never surprised by our circumstances. He knew even before the foundation of the world exactly what our circumstances would be, and when. It boils down to the fact that we don’t need to understand “the why”; we need only to make it our mantra to “trust in the Lord with all our heart.”
